GAIA COFFEE

Gaia takes its name from Vila Nova de Gaia, the city on the southern bank of the Douro River in Porto District, where the Matheus-Furtado family currently calls home in the north of Portugal.

Across the river stands Porto’s Ribeira, where the same brand was photographed for the world to see. The name honors the place, the river, the family, and a culture where wine, coffee, and the good things of life have always belonged together.

Gaia is 100% dark roast Arabica, sourced from El Salvador and Brazil, with notes of chocolate, nuts, and caramel. Freshly roasted. The natural companion to everything Elizabete bakes.

The Gaia bag tells the full origin story in three visual panels.

The top panel depicts the streets of Carregal, Alvaiázere, the godfather’s home where the project was born in 2020.

The middle band honors São João and the natural spring in the village of Azenha, meters from Elizabete’s childhood home.

The lower section brings the Galegas vineyard to life alongside the ruins of her paternal grandparents’ 19th-century home. Each bag is stamped with a handwritten roast date.
