We believe in doing things slowly, like good sourdough.
Every phase of Elizabete unfolds with patience, with purpose, and without rushing what is not yet ready.
In baking, the fermento is the living culture that makes bread rise. Small, carefully tended, and patient, it contains within it the full potential of everything that comes after. You cannot rush it. You cannot force it. You simply feed it, protect it, and trust it to do what it was born to do.
This is how Elizabete begins.
In the villages of Alvaiázere, the same hills where Elizabete grew up and where our sourdough starter was born, mornings have always begun the same way. Before the rest of the town wakes, the baker is already moving through the village streets, stopping only at the houses where a bread bag hangs from the front door. That hanging bag is the signal, the quiet, wordless way of saying: we would like our bread this morning.
Each evening, the family would place a handwritten note inside the bag with their order and the coins to pay for it. The baker would pass, collect the note, leave the fresh loaves, and continue on his way. By the time the household stirred, the bread was already there, fresh from the early morning bake, placed with care, and entirely theirs.
No app. No notification. Just trust, handwriting, and the smell of something good.
We are thrilled to bring this tradition, unchanged in spirit, reimagined for today, to the city of Parkland, Florida. As a Cottage Food operation under Florida Statute 500.80, Elizabete delivers freshly baked sourdough loaves, croissants, and pastries directly to your door. Pre-orders placed through our website are your modern version of the handwritten note. We also bring our bakes to local farmers markets, where you can meet us and taste what we make.
The Old Continent, delivered to your doorstep. Personal, customized, and made that morning.
O Fermento is where it all begins, small, alive, and already rising.
A Varanda, Portuguese for the veranda, is what comes next.
A design-forward mobile outdoor experience. Curated, warm, and unhurried. A space that carries the spirit of the Iberian Peninsula wherever it goes: the open terrace, the shared table, the coffee that takes its time.
Not a truck. Not a stand. Something closer to a gathering, a portable extension of everything Elizabete represents, brought to where you are. A Varanda allows us to be closer to you, to offer a deeper and stronger menu, and to create the kind of moment you carry with you long after the last sip.
Always good vibe. Always chic. Always well structured.
This is not a coming-soon announcement. This is an invitation, to be close when it opens, to be part of what it becomes.
The Indoor Experience
A European work-café designed around the art of staying a little longer. Warm, comfortable, and unhurried, a space where the bread is baked in-house, the coffee is always Gaia, and the atmosphere invites you to settle in without apology.
Natural materials, soft light, and the quiet hum of a place that knows its own rhythm. A table for your morning. A corner for your afternoon. A counter where you can watch the baking happen and understand, without needing to be told, that everything here is made with care.
A Casa is not a quick stop. It is a European state of mind brought to South Florida, respectful, refined, and completely at ease with itself. The kind of place where you come to work and stay for the conversation. Where the pastry is reason enough, and the atmosphere is the rest.
Baked in-house. Always fresh. Always good vibe.
A Casa is where Elizabete comes home, and invites you in.
Some journeys lead you back to where everything began.
In the village of Galegas, in the central hills of Portugal, there is a small vineyard that has been producing grapes for more than forty years. Beside it stand the ruins of a 19th-century home, the house where Elizabete’s paternal grandparents lived, the land where our sourdough starter was born, the earth where this entire story has its roots.
O Regresso is the fourth chapter of Elizabete, and its most intimate.
The ruins will be rebuilt. Not erased and replaced, rebuilt with reverence and with intention. A fully modern, cutting-edge property born from the original stone. Supremely comfortable. Quietly extraordinary. Available exclusively as a whole-house rental, reserved for families and travelers who understand that the most profound experiences are not shared with strangers, they are protected, curated, and felt deeply.
Guests of O Regresso will wake to the sound of the hills of Alvaiázere. They will walk through the vineyard at their own pace, taste Portuguese food and wine grown from the same soil as the bread they first discovered in Florida and experience the peace that only arrives when you stop moving long enough to feel where you are.
This is not a hotel. This is not a resort. This is an alojamento local, an exclusive lodging experience available by reservation only, designed for those who already know what they are looking for.
Silence tourism. European elegance. A living origin story you can sleep inside.
