ELIZABETE

Elizabete Furtado

Founder, Head Baker and COO

Elizabete Furtado was born in Abrantes, in the district of Santarém, in central Portugal. She earned her dental degree at the Universidad del Zulia in Venezuela, and her endodontics specialization at the University of Coimbra in Portugal. She is, by every measure, a scientist, precise, methodical, devoted to excellence.

In 2020, in the quiet hills of Carregal, Alvaiázere, something shifted. What began as a lockdown at her godfather’s home became a transformation. What began as curiosity became a second profession, pursued with the same discipline she had always applied to dentistry. She completed an online baking certification, earned her professional baker’s degree at the Universidad del Zulia, trained at Europe’s finest baking schools including Galicia, Spain, and in 2023 completed her studies at the San Francisco Baking Institute.

Elizabete now lives in South Florida with her family, where she bakes every order by hand, in small batches, with the living starter she brought from Portugal.

Héctor Matheus

Co-Founder and CEO

Héctor Matheus Raga was born in Venezuela and began his career in 2002 at La Chinita International Airport in Maracaibo. Over the next two decades he advanced through specialized air cargo until he became General Manager of a cargo agency, leading its commercial, administrative, and operational divisions. He is, by every measure, an operator: exacting, unhurried, and formed by the work itself.

His career centered on the freight that allows the least margin for error: project cargo for the energy sector, dangerous goods, oversized shipments, and perishables. He directed logistics for a global energy company, including complex charter flights to Oslo, Paris, and Houston through the hardest months of the pandemic, and dozens of charters carrying fresh produce into Miami. He is certified in dangerous goods and perishable cargo handling, and he works in the three languages of the brand: Spanish, English, and Portuguese, the last of them learned while living in Portugal.

He later relocated with his family to South Florida. In April 2023 he and Elizabete founded Elizabete Bakery Company LLC and built it the way she bakes: the entity first, then the accounts, then the oven. As Co-Founder and CEO he leads its corporate structure, legal framework, and technology.
